Alpaca Wool Care

Light, breathable and naturally resilient.

Alpaca is one of the world’s most exceptional fibres — soft, temperature-regulating and remarkably durable. Caring for it is wonderfully simple.

How to Wash

  • Hand wash in cool water with a mild wool detergent.

  • If using a machine, choose a cold (30 degrees maximum), gentle wool cycle and place socks inside a mesh bag.

  • Avoid fabric softeners — alpaca is naturally soft and needs nothing extra.

How to Dry

  • Gently squeeze out excess water. Do not wring.

  • Reshape and lay flat to dry away from direct heat or sunlight.

  • Never tumble dry: heat can damage the delicate fibres.

How to Store

  • Keep folded in a dry drawer.

  • If storing for a long period, place clean socks in a breathable cotton bag.

A note on pilling

Pilling is natural in premium fibres and reflects the softness of alpaca. Simply remove with a fabric comb when needed — it won’t affect longevity.

British Merino Wool Care

Fine-gauge, breathable and naturally refined.

Merino wool is known for its softness and sophisticated performance — warm without bulk, breathable without losing structure.

How to Wash

  • Hand wash or use a cold wool cycle on your machine.

  • Use a gentle, wool-safe detergent.

  • Wash with similar lightweight fabrics to avoid friction.

How to Dry

  • Press out water gently — avoid twisting.

  • Lay flat to dry to maintain shape.

  • Do not tumble dry; merino prefers a gentle, air-dried finish.

How to Store

  • Fold, never hang, to preserve elasticity.

  • Keep in a cool, dry drawer.

  • If storing long term, use a breathable pouch to protect from moths.
